On Thursday, AstraZeneca Pharma India revealed that the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has approved their cancer medication Tremelimumab Concentrate for intravenous use.

The pharmaceutical firm revealed that the medication, i.e., Tremelimumab in combination with durvalumab, was approved based on the findings of the Phase III HIMALAYA clinical study. The drug is intended for the treatment of patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC).

The experiment was carried out in 181 locations throughout 16 nations, including the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, and Asia, including India. The clearance authorized AstraZeneca Pharma to offer Tremelimumab solution in 20 mg/ml (25 mg/1.25 ml) and 300 mg/15 ml presentations in single-dose vials in India for the prescribed indication.

AstraZeneca India Country President and Managing Director Sanjeev Panchal noted that the approval is consistent with the company’s goal of improving patient outcomes without leaving any patients behind.
